HUMANITY VERSUS OUR SUPPORT SYSTEMS

 OUR QUALITY OF LIFE AND THE PRESERVATION 

OF OUR SUPPORT SYSTEMS IS DEPENDENT

UPON THE DECISIONS MADE BY 

HUMAN BEINGS. 

We are the masters of our fate.  The future of LIFE upon our EARTH is dependent upon the collective decisions made by the leaders of all the governments of our world.

Failure of governments worldwide to act decisively and immediately is a recipe for disaster that will affect every living thing on earth whether it be plant life or living creatures.

Plants and all living creatures are dependent on certain conditions on our earth.  The indispensable conditions are:

ARABLE LAND

There must be sufficient arable land to grow the plants, without which all living creatures would cease to exist.

 CLEAN WATER

There must be sufficient drinkable water to sustain life. Polluted Water can kill or affect the health of plants or animals. In many parts of our world chemical substances from factories and human waste is dumped in our rivers and it eventually ends up in our dams. We source our drinking water from dams or rivers thus the harmful chemicals, and the bacteria from human waste affect our health and the health of plant life. If the pollution from chemicals is severe it can cause death or major health problems.

CLEAN AIR

Clean  and unpolluted air is vital to our health. Air polluted by the burning of  fossil fuels such as coal and oil increases carbon dioxide emissions which cause global warming, which in turn causes climate change. The rate of climate change is exacerbated by the burning of forests and the destruction of vegetation in general.

It is therefore obvious that we must protect our forests and increase our vegetation.  We must have a healthy balance between the cultivation of forests, plants, and the usage thereof by humans. The present population growth is upsetting this vital balance and we are presently reaping the consequences. We are in the process of destroying our habitat. Without suitable habitat we will destroy ourselves in the process.

It is estimated that the AMAZON JUNGLE produces about twenty percent of our oxygen needs, yet this jungle is being destroyed at an alarming rate by humans who use the trees to produce wood for construction purposes and making paper.  A tree destroyed must be replaced by planting another tree in it's place.  Remember that plants absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen by photosynthesis. Humans  produce excess carbon dioxide by using fossil fuels such as oil and coal. Before the industrial revolution there was a balance between the absorption of carbon dioxide by vegetation, which is  produced by animals and humans, and the production of oxygen by plants. Before the industrial revolution humans and animals produced carbon dioxide by lighting fires for cooking and heat and do not forget that all animal life produces carbon dioxide by breathing and passing wind.

Global Warming will melt our glaciers causing the sea level to rise. Global Warming will cause temperatures to rise. Rising temperatures apart from melting the glaciers and causing sea levels to rise will evaporate our vital resources such as rivers and dams. Our agricultural crops will wither and die to the abnormally high temperatures. People will starve and die. Other living creatures will starve and die. The earth as we presently experience it will cease to exist.

POPULATION GROWTH 

Presently Population Growth is a major factor that is affecting our lives.  FOOD - FUEL - CLEAN WATER- BREATHABLE AIR - HOUSING is diminishing whilst the population of our world is exploding. THIS IS A RECIPE FOR GLOBAL DISASTER.

CAN WE HALT THIS DESTRUCTION OF OUR VITAL RESOURCES?

YES WE CAN - BUT GOVERNMENTS WORLDWIDE MUST BE INFORMED OF OUR PENDING DISASTER AND THEY MUST IMMEDIATELY TAKE EFFECTIVE STEPS TO  STOP GLOBAL WARMING AND REVERSE THE SITUATION BY ENFORCING A POLICY OF MINIMAL CARBON EMISSIONS AND ADDRESSING THE POPULATION EXPLOSION WORLDWIDE.
